Week 10-Last but not Least

It feels strange to post a blog on a Wednesday.I feel sad because I'll miss our weekly discussions,readings,new learning experiences.....For me it was a wonderful experience.At first,everything was strange & confusing,as I wasn't that experienced using tech tools,but now I feel so confident,so happy in what I've achieved,learned and I hope to be lucky enough to be a participant in another course.I feel blessed and I want to thank Donna and our sponsors in giving us this opportunity to study this course.Bless you all.
I learnt how to create a blog,Rubrics,Delicious,WebQuests,Interactive PPs.
I learnt about different technology tools,search engines,CALL,Bloom's Taxonomy which I discovered is being taught here at the Masters Level,the list is endless.I hope I 'll get the chance to put into practice what I've learnt & to be a better teacher.I just wish we had covered something about Special Needs Students,because I believe we should learn just the basics in teaching them.Does the University have this course?

The 9th Week.

I can't believe that we're almost finishing.I just wonder,will we continue with blogging?I'll really miss all of you.I wish you all a successful project,but I feel sad.No more assignments,it feels empty.I learnt a lot about Multiple Intelligence &Learning Styles,let's not forget tech tools.For those who are lucky to have all the tech tools,they can implement them to cater for different learners,for those who don't,then be creative.After all,I think we teachers are really creative.We push ourselves for the students's sakes.It was my first time to learn about the Intrapersonal,Interpersonal,Existentialist &Naturalist MI. They are interesting concepts,which I'll explore later.I also did the quiz,and I was surprised too about my learning style.Donna is really intuitive.She says teachers try to teach according to their learning styles & I think she's RIGHT!Don't you?
This week,I began implementing my plan.I used what I planned and the lessons went really well.My learners were really enthusiastic and I got a positive feedback from parents.Some wanted to attend my next week lessons.I gave their kids homework using WebQuest to their ipads.My principal attended two of my lessons,and he told me to go ahead with my plans.I've not told my colleagues because I don't think they'll be positive.I discussed about it with my principal & our Professional Development Tutor,who's going to try to introduce/train us,using his own discretion.Ialso gave this site to my kids for ebooks,to explore during weekends as homework & a wooksheet to write their favourite characters and a book log too.http://www.magickeys.com/books.I'll see the response next week.I'm still working on the Rubrics.All the best.I'm wondering about week 10?

WEEK 8

What an eventful week for me.Although there was no teaching for me this week,because of orals &practical ICT exams.As soon as students finished,they were given a holiday to enable us teachers to finish marking &prepare report cards.This week there was no reading but we had to discuss tech tools.Tech tools depends on who,what you are teaching &which tool will suit your objectives.I also created a rough draft for my pla,which I intend to intergrate with what am teaching for my third term,which begins next week,on Sunday 2 March.Our school days begin on Sundays to Thursdays.Fridays &Saturdays are our weekend.The only problem I encountered was lack of Internet connection.It was so frustrating.You're in the middle of researching for project,then poof.all data researched is gone.Let's hope this week will be less stressful.Wow.We're alost finishing.I'll miss you ll.I've been assigned with my project/plan partner Tseegie.May our partnership be fruitful&successful.Good Luck to all of you.

Week 7

Here we are,almost at the end of our course.For me this week I learnt about Padlet,Learner Autonomy.I also read about the one-mobile classroom,although I still have to view the Webinar Donna sent me.For me this week no teaching took place because we were having our second term exams.We'll still continue with our exams the coming week.My kids have ICT practicals,Arabic Oral&Written &Islamiyat.&piles of marking.We also have to prepare Report Cards.I was so disappointed because I wanted to carry out my project,so tht means I have to plan instead.I'm also going to use interactive PP instead of WebQuest due to unavoidable circumstances.I'm looking for a partner.Any takers?Looking forward for next week.I wonder what surprises are in store for us.

WEEK 6

WEEK 6,
Let's see ,It was an interesting week.My first time to create an interactive PP,learnt the differences between Standard PP&Interactive PP.I used it in my English lesson.We are using Nelson Thornes Pupil Book &  I taught The Snow Queen,but in the textbook it's only an excerpt,so I downloaded the video from YouTube &prepared a short quiz.The lesson went well & my students were thoroughly engaged because they wanted to know the whole story.Most of them asked me where to find the video because they wanted to watch with their parents at home.Unfortunately next week is exam week,the second term exams so I won't be able to teach anything.We've all been assigned to proctoring different classes. I was also planning using WebQuest for my lessons,with the project deadline looming ahead.I also wanted to create an Interactive PP for my other sobjects I teach.I'm going to use all what I've learnt in this course to improve my teaching.Looking forward to Week 7.

Well,I'm so happy to have created my webquest.It was frustrating due to poor network.I hope I'll be able to use it in my project.Waiting to see what surprises week 6 holds for us.I also created my first rubric at RubiStar,my second at zunal.Karima

Week 3

I can't believe we're finishing the 3rd week.We had lots of assignments.I just keep double checking to see if I've missed anything.We learnt about delicious.All my collegues at school have never heard of it.Even CALL is new to me.Also i've asked my collegues about blogging.Nobody has heard about it even our ICTteachers.I'll try to talk to our professinal development trainer to introduce all these great ideas coz I like sharing any knowledge I have,although I think it will be impossible for me to introduce blogging to Grade 3 students so instead I'll collaborate with our trainer to introduce blogging to develop us professionally.Great idea...blogging
